What if we transformed our favourite lemon-lime soft drink into a wearable fragrance? Could we 1UP it?

7UP was created by Charles Leiper Grigg, a businessman and inventor who developed the formula for the lemon-lime soft drink in 1929. Originally named “Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda,” the drink contained lithium citrate, a mood-stabilizing drug. Its name was later shortened to “7 Up Lithiated Lemon Soda” before being further shortened to just “7 Up” by 1936.

While the explanation for “Up” is apparent, the origin of the “7” remains disputed: theories suggest it refers to the drink’s seven main ingredients, its pH level, its seven-ounce bottle, or possibly a reference to the lithium contained in the original formula, which has an atomic mass of 7.

In 1948, lithium was removed from the formula due to regulatory changes. In the 1950s, 7UP became increasingly popular, positioning itself as the refreshing, caffeine-free alternative to other soft drinks that continues to be enjoyed today.

In 1UP, we elevate lemon-lime into a citrus-forward but well-balanced fragrance; a refreshing blend featuring base notes of guaiacwood, patchouli, tonka, and vanilla, and heart notes of jasmine, rose, allspice, cardamom, and coconut.

Tallow + Steel shave soaps are handmade using the highest quality organic ingredients, including tallow - which we render in-house from local, pasture-raised suet.  Our shave soaps are easy to lather using all types of shaving brushes. Plenty of water is required when lathering to achieve optimal cushion and slickness - apply the lather to a wet face for best results.
